Kingdom of Wonders circus performs free show in Henderson

HENDERSON, Tenn. — A traveling circus brought a free performance to Henderson, drawing families and fans from across the region.

The Kingdom of Wonders circus performed under a big top tent in Henderson Wednesday. Owner Benjamin Holland said the circus is traveling with a goal of visiting 50 states.

“What the Kingdom of Wonders is, is everything you normally think of when you think of a circus, right? So we’ve got the big top tent, all the acrobats doing flips, and the crazy stunts– one for the whole family. But it’s got this kind of medieval kings and queens, knights and dragons twist on it, you know?” Holland said.

Seth Moulton, a circus attendee, said he has been a fan of the Kingdom of Wonders for a long time.

“I’ve been a fan a long time for the Kingdom of Wonders, I might be their number one fan…I’m kind of sad I’m missing out right now, but we’re here, and we’re ready to see some magic,” Moulton said.

Drake Johnson, another attendee,  said he drove an hour to attend the event.

“He texts me, he’s my high school best friend. We’re from the same hometown, and he takes me. He was like, ‘You want to go see him?’ I always wanted to go. And we heard it was free. So, I mean, an hour and a half drive was worth it.” Johnson said.

The Kingdom of Wonders circus will have another performance in Henderson Thursday night beginning at 6 p.m. Next week, the circus is scheduled to perform in Lexington.
