The event is to help raise money for their services in the community, helping families to access affordable housing.
They extend into Madison, Crockett, Gibson, and Haywood counties, empowering families and stregthening communities.
The executive director of the organization and the president, both told us why this event is so important to them.
“It’s very important to me, as is quoted in the Bible and as we learn we just need to help folks out that need help. So I really like doing it just for that reason, that we’re doing something for some people that really need it,” said Harold Nance, executive director of JAHO.
“It’s helping families, and getting people into better housing, especially the children. They seem to do better in school when they have very nice housing and make great neighbors also,” shared Roy Jelks president of JAHO.
