2nd Annual Mix MLP Pickleball Tournament takes place in Milan

MILAN, Tenn.—A popular sporting event comes to Milan raising money for a great cause.

The American Legion Post 287 partnered with Gibson County and the Hub City Picklers for the 2nd annual Mix MLP Pickleball tournament.

The games took place at the Milan City Courts Saturday morning beginning at 9.

Male and female teams were included in the tournament and participated in both intermediate and advanced divisions games.

The admission fee for players was $50 and all ages were welcomed to participate.

“This is the typical, I think from last year. We had about 40, we have 40 this year. We’ve got a few more sponsors that have come in and helped raise the funds to put this on,” said Bob Howland, Commander at American Legion Post 287.

Proceeds from the fundraiser go towards the needs of local veterans and to provide students with scholarships.
