Jazz Foundation of West Tennessee celebrates Jazz Appreciation Month

JACKSON, Tenn. –Music filled the air as the Jazz Foundation of West Tennessee celebrated Jazz Appreciation Month.

On Saturday a concert was held at the Ned R. McWherter Cultural Arts Center in Jackson with Grammy Award Winning trumpet sensation Terell Stafford.

The Jazz Foundation says it is committed to jazz and blues music in Jackson.

“Jazz is considered America’s classical music. It’s a great export around the world and the music is for everyone and we’re just glad that people are coming out,” said James Cherry, founder and president of the Jazz Foundation of West Tennessee.

Cherry says their goal is to have at least four concerts a year.
