3-car collision involving 18-wheeler reported in West Jackson

UPDATE | 6pm: The  City of Jackson Fire Department confirms only one person suffered minor injures from the accident. The individual, who was initially trapped inside their vehicle, was extracted and transported to Jackson-General for treatment.

UPDATE | 5:30pm: Officials with the Jackson Police Department say the scene is now clear.

EARLIER STORY | 3:20pm: 

JACKSON, Tenn. (WBBJ) – The Jackson Police Department is advising motorists to avoid an area of North Parkway and the 45-Bypass Northbound following a three-car collision.

According to preliminary reports from the Jackson Police Department, the crash involved an overturned 18-wheeler and there are confirmed injuries.

All Northbound lanes are closed at this time.

Motorists are asked to choose an alternate route.
