1 doctoral student from USF found dead, another still missing, officials say

TAMPA, Fla. (Gray News) — One doctoral student from the University of South Florida (USF) has been found dead and another is still missing.

At a press conference Friday, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said Zamil Limon, 27, was found dead. His body was found near the Howard Frankland Bridge.

Detectives are actively working to locate Nahida Bristy, 27.

The two were last seen on April 16 on or near the USF campus in Tampa.

Officials said Thursday that new information led them to believe Bristy and Limon were endangered.

The sheriff’s office said Friday that a person was taken into custody in connection with the case.

The sheriff’s office said the person was barricaded, but the situation has been resolved and the person is in custody.

The sheriff’s office said additional updates will be given as they become available.
