LIST: Storm shelters available across West Tennessee
JACKSON, Tenn. (WBBJ) – As the severe weather threat moves into West Tennessee Monday, several organizations are opening shelters to local residents.
Here is a list of shelters across the area. Be sure to check back for future listings as they are announced.

Crockett County
- The Alamo Storm Shelter located on Ball Park Loop will be open at 4 p.m.

Carroll County
- Two FEMA-approved tornado shelters will be available during severe weather. One at the Carroll County Jail located at 200 Norandal Drive in Huntingdon; Another at Bethel University located at 105 Campus Drive in McKenzie.

Hardin County
- If a tornado warning is issued, these shelters will be available: Basement of the Hardin County Courthouse located at 65 Court Street in Savannah (this shelter is not FEMA-rated); The Saltillo Storm Shelter located at 47680 Highway 69 in Saltillo (this shelter is FEMA-rated). Henderson County
- The Watson Center located at 50 Natchez Trace Drive will be open beginning at 6 p.m. If the weather degrades further by then, new opening times will be posted here.

Henry County
- The Henry County Sheriff’s Office will be opening storm shelters at Harrelson, Henry and Lakewood Schools beginning at 6 p.m.
- Storm Shelters at Inman & Rhea Schools will opening at 6 p.m.

Madison County
- The Carl Perkins Civic Center will be opening at 4 p.m. as a safe place for any who need it.
- The following locations in Jackson will be opening at 4 p.m. as well: Jackson Regional Airport located at 308 Grady Montgomery Drive; Pope School located at 1081 Ashport Road.

Weakley County
- The Community Safe Room located at 701 N Lindell Street in Martin is now open as of 4 p.m. due to an active tornado watch for the area. This facility operates as a FEMA-rated F5 tornado safe room. For more details and guidelines for this shelter, click here.
