Tennessee grants releases to 3 players

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Tennessee wide receiver Paul Harris, running back Tom Smith and defensive back Tino Thomas have received their releases to leave the football program.
Volunteers coach Butch Jones said Thursday at a news conference that, “We’ve allowed them to explore further options.”
Harris played in five games as a freshman this season and caught one pass for 15 yards. Smith played 10 games this fall and rushed for 95 yards and 24 carries as a sophomore. Thomas, a redshirt freshman, played in three games but didn’t make a tackle.
