Jackson Sears location to close in March

JACKSON, Tenn. — The local Sears location at the Old Hickory Mall is among 80 stores the company announced will close in late March.

The company informed associates Thursday of the upcoming closures, according to a release posted on the Sears Holdings website.

The accompanying Sears Auto Center at these Sears stores will also be closing, the release says.

The closures are part of the company’s “processes to accelerate its strategic transformation and facilitate its financial restructuring.”

Liquidation sales at these stores are expected to begin in two weeks.

These closures are in addition to the previously announced closure of 40 unprofitable stores expected to be completed in February, the release says.
