Parks director says photo of naked man at park isn’t real; viewers disagree

JACKSON, Tenn. — WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News has received calls and messages about a naked man possibly seen at Liberty Park in north Jackson.

We asked the Recreation and Parks Department about the picture. They say it’s fake.

Tony Black, director of the Recreation and Parks Department, said he believes the photo has been altered and isn’t real.

LaTasha Perkins says she walks at Liberty Park every day.

“All the parks I actually come to in the daytime, or as early as possible, and don’t walk alone, because you just never know. A naked person can be anywhere,” Perkins said. “But being out here at my favorite park, and it’s clean — don’t walk around naked.”

WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News has received several messages from viewers saying the photo is in fact real and was taken at Liberty Park.

Reporter Julia Ewoldt will talk to the woman who took the photo this evening on WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News at 6.
