Areal Flood Watch in Place Until Tuesday Morning
Weather Update – 11:00 p.m. – Monday, February 11th
Rain continues to fall tonight in West Tennessee, and it’s been heavy at times! TDOT and local county highway departments are reporting more roads are getting covered by high water from nearby creeks and rivers overflowing their banks. Rain will be falling for most of the night across West Tennessee and will likely linger into Tuesday morning. Give yourself extra time to get to your destination this morning, because many roads may be closed and PLEASE avoid flooded roads at all costs and find a safer route to get to where you’re going. Temperatures will be dropping to the lower 50s by sunrise tomorrow.
The showers will taper off with drier weather during Tuesday afternoon but cooler air will be coming in then with afternoon temperatures near 50°F. Clear skies are forecast to return in time for sunset on Tuesday evening with the clear and calm weather likely allowing temperatures to drop below freezing Wednesday morning. Wind chills will be in the lower to middle 20s in some spots on Wednesday. Unfortunately, we don’t stay dry for very long so stay with WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News for the latest forecast, which includes another round of rain on the way, and keep up with Storm Team Weather Online too for more updates.
