Woman pleads guilty in deadly shooting at Jackson law office
JACKSON, Tenn. — A woman has pleaded guilty in a 2017 shooting that left another woman dead at a downtown Jackson law office.
Shurnue Bratton pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree murder. She was sentenced to serve a 40-year sentence at 100 percent.
Bratton was initially charged with first-degree murder and felony murder in the April 2017 shooting death of Betsy Raines.
Raines was shot and killed at the Casey, Simmons and Bryant law office in downtown Jackson where she worked.
Bratton had recently been terminated from her position at the law office where the shooting occurred.
