American Heart Association hosts Red Tie Society breakfast
JACKSON, Tenn. — Local men are wearing red in support of the American Heart Association and the fight against heart disease.
Men gathered Tuesday at the association’s Red Tie Society breakfast at the New Southern Hotel in downtown Jackson.
The men in attendance had the opportunity to meet and network, all sharing a common goal of raising awareness for heart disease.
“The Red Tie Society to me is so powerful, to see 100 men gathered and say the American Heart Association is something I want to fund,” said Christy Futrell, regional director for the American Heart Association.
Futrell says the breakfast also serves as a “thank you” for all the monetary donations to the association.
The next big fundraiser is “Go Red for Women” on March 21.
