NAACP celebrates 110 years
JACKSON, Tenn.–Tuesday night, the NAACP celebrated 110 years of service.
Community leaders gathered at the Jackson-Madison County branch in downtown Jackson. They swore in 20 new members. Leaders say it’s important to connect with others.
“We have to be able to stand shoulder to shoulder and fight the good fight and the good fights are the ones that take away all of the inequities that we have here in this system in a lot of different variety,” said Harrell Carter, NAACP President.
Next, NAACP plans to show a documentary at Lane College.
