Weakley Co. man charged with rape of child
WEAKLEY COUNTY, Tenn. — A Gleason man now faces a child rape charge after an investigation stemming from his arrest earlier this month.
Clarence Grantham, 59, was arrested March 12 after investigators searched his home.
The sheriff’s office announced Wednesday that Grantham is now charged with rape of a child, according to a news release.
Court documents say Grantham’s initial arrest resulted from interviews with several juvenile children who told investigators Grantham videotaped them naked and showed them pornography at his home.
The rape charge is a result of a series of forensic interviews and a medical examination by a doctor from the Carl Perkins Center, according to the release.
At the time of his arrest, Grantham was charged with indecent exposure, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, simple possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The sheriff’s office is still investigating the case.
