Aggravated Kidnapping Charges Stem From Routine Traffic Stop

JACKSON Tenn. — What started as a routine traffic stop ended in an arrest and multiple charges for one Jackson man, Saturday night. During a traffic stop on Highland and Campbell, investigators discovered a handgun on Edward Trye Woods Poston, 21, that matched the description of one that was stole during a home invasion on Dec. 18. Investigators also recovered four small bags of marijuana on Poston. Police charged Poston with Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Kidnapping and Theft of Property for the December incident at 580 Lawrence-Switch Road. He has also been charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Resale, Possession of a Firearm during a dangerous Felony, Possession of Stolen Property and Possession of a Firearm with the Intent to go Armed. An arraignment has not been scheduled at this time.
