Another Round Of Potential Storms Coming This Afternoon
Weather Update – 10:39 a.m. – Saturday, June 22nd, 2019 –
Showers And Storms Will Continue To Be A Factor Today. This morning a round of heavy downpours and wind gusts to around 40 mph have moved into Obion, Lake, Weakley, Henry, And Northern Benton Counties.
Another complex of storms was located in Missouri At 10 a.m. this morning. At the current speed they are moving, we could have another round sometime around 3 to 4 p.m. The plus side to the storms is they will help to cool down some areas especially north of I-40 keeping dangerous heat levels down some. Most areas along and south of I-40 will likely still see heat indicies reaching to near 100 degrees towards mid afternoon.
Another part of the weather story will be dangerous heat indicies. The temperatures in the low 90’s will combine with humid air to make it effectively feel like around 100 to 103 over the area in the afternoon! Take plenty of breaks if you plan to be outside in the afternoon.
