Fireworks shows planned across West Tennessee

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Madison County Fire Department is setting up for their annual Firefighters Freedom Festival, but it isn’t the only place to see fireworks.

There will also be a display at Paris Landing State Park. Swim Beach will close at 2 p.m. Thursday so they can set up the fireworks. There will also be food vendors, a D.J., and animal programs. Fireworks start at dusk.

Just southwest of there, the McKenzie Freedom Fest will take place at McKenzie Park.

The Legends will play from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with fireworks following. It’s free for the whole family.

Down in Selmer, they will have their own Freedom Fest. They’ll kick off the day with a parade starting a noon and then live music from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Their fireworks will start at 9.

Beech Lake in Henderson County will have their annual Festival of the Lakes starting at 8 a.m. with boat races and beauty pageants. The bands start playing at 2:30 p.m. Their fireworks also start at 9 p.m.

Back in the Hub City, the Jackson Generals will launch fireworks Wednesday night after their game against the Montgomery Biscuits.

Tickets for the game start at $6.

If you’re going to McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport for the Firefighters Freedom Festival, gates open at 3 p.m., live music starts at 3:45 p.m. and the fireworks will start launching sometime around 9 p.m.
