Trio Arrested For Burglary

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A trio has been arrested after deputies say they successfully stole several electronics from a home, but were seen by a witness when they returned to grab the remotes they had forgotten. Sherrod M. Reaves, 20, of Jackson and Joshua W. Newbern, 19 of Medon were formally charged with two counts of Aggravated Burglary. A 17-year-old juvenile was also arrested. The burglary happened on Jan. 25 around 11:00 p.m. on Wells Lassiter Road in Madison County. When the suspects went back to the residence to retrieve the remote controls, a witness observed the three males leaving in a black Impala. Reaves and Newbern will appear for arraignment in General Sessions Court, Division I on Jan. 30, at 8:00 a.m. The detention hearing for the juvenile is unknown at this time. The investigation is continuing.
