Woman accused of calling in city court bomb threat appears in court

JACKSON, Tenn. — A woman suspected of making a fake bomb threat Thursday that interrupted Jackson City Court appeared Friday morning in court.

Stephanie Wilcox is charged with false reports.

According to court documents, she called central dispatch Thursday morning, saying in part, “There’s a bomb in there. There’s a bomb. Hurry up.”

There was no bomb, but Jackson police and fire departments spent 30 minutes using drone and K-9 units to make sure the building was safe.

Wilcox is being held for a revocation hearing, and her bond is set at $50,000.

Judge Blake Anderson recused himself from the case, as he could be a potential witness.
