CHESTER COUNTY-Tenn. Aurthur and Cherrie Fulghum tried to defend their actions by finding fault with the inspection process, but in the end they pleaded guilty. Four horses found on their Chester County property had little water and no food. Judge Larry McKenzie sentenced the couple to supervised probation, and told them he had little to say except, “shame on you.” “I’m pleased that Chester County held them responsible for their actions, and I’m pleased that these horses are in rescue now and are getting the proper care they need,” said Redemption Road Rescue’s Cruelty Coordinator Jennifer McBride. One horse, Joe who was the worst of the four animals is responding better than expected after two weeks and his new foster family has full hope that he will recover. “There are a lot of people that really love their animals that fall on hard times. There are people to help, so I hope this lets people know you don’t have to let your animals get this bad,” said McBride. Rescuers said Joe, Ava, Peaches, and Zorro still have a long road to their full recovery.
