New Madison County Firefighters Complete Training, Graduate

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn.-As of Tuesday night there are nine new firefighters in Madison County. WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Staff was there as the new Madison County volunteer firefighters graduated, each completing more than 60 hours of training. Dozens of family and friends were there to see the men receive their badges and certificates. Each said they were honored to get to do what they love. “Absolutely, I do consider this an honor. I put a lot of hard work into it and I just want to be able to fulfill the shoes of the great firefighters that have been before me,” said Lamont Askew, a new firefighter with the Madison County Fire Department. Leaders with the fire department said these new firefighters will begin going out on calls right away.
