HARDEMAN COUNTY, Tenn. – Sheriff John Doolen confirms Michael Chism has died from the injuries he suffered in the Saturday explosion inside Kilgore Flares in Toone. Officials previously said Chism had burns on more than 90 percent of his body. Late Monday, an ATF spokesperson said federal investigators had ruled out “natural causes” as the reason for the explosion. Sheriff Doolen stated “ Condolences go out to the family of Michael Chism as we are deeply saddened of this traumatic event. The community has suffered a great loss due to this unfortunate incident.” Sheriff Doolen said more information will be released later Tuesday.
