Freedom Shrine Dedication at Jackson Police Department

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Exchange Club and the City of Jackson dedicated a Freedom Shrine at the Jackson Police Department, Tuesday afternoon. The Freedom Shrine is a collection of photographic reproductions of original documents from American history. The display includes the Bill of Rights, the Mayflower Compact, the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. The Freedom Shrine program is designed to remind Americans that the freedom and greatness we enjoy today were not purchased easily and these gifts must be cherished and protected. More than 12,000 Freedom Shrines have been dedicated in schools, military installations and government buildings across the country since the program began in 1949. In Jackson, Freedom Shrines are located at City Hall, the Carl Perkins Civic Center and the Madison County Courthouse. Exchange, American’s Premier Service Club, works to make our communities better places to live through our four pillars of service: Americanism, Youth, Community Service and Child Abuse Prevention.
