Paris man sentenced on charges related to drug trafficking, firearms
JACKSON, Tenn. — A Paris man has been sentenced on federal charges related to drug trafficking and firearms.
John Adams Hoskins, 35, of Paris, was sentenced for charges of possession with intent to distribute and attempt to possess with intent to distribute actual methamphetamine, as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to the U.S. District Attorney’s Office.
Court records say Hoskins had been stopped by police and told officers that there was a firearm in the vehicle. Officers then recovered a loaded .38-caliber revolver, according to a news release.
Police used a K-9 unit which alerted them to a backpack that contained $30,520 in cash, 44 Xanax pills, 29 alprazolam pills, and 4.55 grams of methamphetamine, according to the release.
Hoskins was sentenced to 15 years in prison with an additional three years of supervised released.
