JACKSON, Tenn. – Former Lane College standout and NFL wide receiver Jacoby Jones returned to his old stomping grounds Tuesday morning. During the school’s Chapel Assembly, Jones spoke about his promise to Lane’s late President Dr. Wesley McClure to donate $10,000 to the school every year. Jones wasn’t only one with gifts. Lane College had one of their own. Interim President Glenn Vaulx and Vice President Richard Donnell presented the Lane alumnus with their version of Super Bowl MVP trophy. During the Baltimore Ravens 2013 championship run, Jones played a pivotal role, which included a 108 kickoff return for a touchdown (longest in NFL history). Jones was also honored with a computer lab being named after him.
