Dr. Emison Retires from Health Dept., Recognized for Service

JACKSON, Tenn.- Thursday, members of the community celebrated a career of more than 25-years served. Dr. Tony Emison celebrated his retirement at the Madison County Health Department, Thursday. Community members said they are proud of his success in building one of the most state-of-the-art facilities in the region. Emison said he could not have done it without all of his colleagues and employees. “It’s been a joy to do this for this county and for the health department and i just want to bring on my employees that I’ve got to work with, cause they have made it very enjoyable,” said Dr. Emison, retired director of the Jackson-Madison County Health Department. No word yet on who is going to fill Emison’s position as director. It is a position that will be appointed by the county.
