Funeral services held for local police officer

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — A funeral was held Saturday for a local hero.

Funeral services for Officer Rhonda Bonds was held at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Humboldt.

Bonds previously worked for the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office in patrol and as a school resource officer.

She joined the Bolivar Police Department in October of 2019.

She died on January 1 after a brief illness.
