Cause of West Jackson Fire Determined to Be Electrical

JACKSON, Tenn.- Fire officials say they have determined the cause of Monday’s West Jackson fire that caused a home heavy smoke damage. According to Deputy Chief David Dillingham, the cause of the Skyridge Drive fire was determined to be electrical. He said that the family had been experiencing problems with the outlet that started the fire. The bedroom sustained fire damage, and the rest of the house had heavy smoke damage. Fire fighters were able to get the fire out within 15 to 20 minutes. Everyone inside was able to get out safely. Dillingham requests that if you are experiencing problems with an outlet to please contact an electrician.
