Convicted Rapist Sentenced to 120 Years

HUNTINGDON, Tenn. – After more than four hours of testimony, a 120 year sentence was handed down for Randy Cary, Tuesday. Circuit Judge Donald Parish said Cary must serve 100 percent of his sentence, which means he will not be eligible for early release. Cary was sentenced to 60 years for aggravated rape and 60 years for especially aggravated kidnapping. The sentences will run consecutively. The judge also ruled that he must register as a sex offender. Cary was convicted by a Carroll County jury on December 18, 2013. At the conclusion of the sentencing hearing, Judge Parish told Cary, “You are the reason that we have to have prisons.”
