Residents React To Zach Adams’ Violent Arrest History

DECATURVILLE, Tenn- Many in Decatur County said they have known of Zach Adams’ run-ins with the law; but are still in disbelief. “It’s still very shocking,” one Decaturville resident said. “His name has been talked about in the town as a possible suspect for a long time,” Jeff Uhde, a Decatur County resident said. Court documents show Adams has a long history of drug offenses involving everything from meth to cocaine. Some residents believe his history with drugs could have fueled his aggression. His first aggravated domestic assault charge came when he was just 19. Court documents also showed in 2004 Adams shot his mother, Cindy King, in the knee. His mother and stepfather then filed an order of protection against him, claiming that they feared for their lives. Adams was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in jail but was allowed to serve most of the time in rehab. Affidavits also allege Adams assaulted his grandfather and grandmother in 2005, threatening to shoot them with a shot gun. Just last month, Adams was arrested on another violent count accused of threatening a woman with a gun and a knife inside his home. “If he did this stuff, I can definitely see the other stuff with Holly Bobo going down,” Jeff Uhde said. Residents said up until recently they still believed Holly was alive; but after hearing of Adams’ charges and learning more about his violent past, they are not so sure. Investigators have not released a possible motive in the case; but friends of Holly said she and Adams were not friends.
