Make-A-Wish Surprises Local Child

JACKSON, Tenn. — A young boy will be living his dream soon, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Eight-year-old Robert found out that he will meet his favorite wrestler, Randy Orton, in Dallas. On Wednesday morning, Robert visited the Old Hickory Mall to participate in what he thought was just promotional activities for Macy’s customers. After popping the balloons he was given as a consolation prize, Robert put together a puzzle revealing a photo of Orton and was shown a poster that read, “Robert, your wish has been granted!” “He’s going to have lots of fun,” Eva Curtis, Robert’s mother said. “This something he’s always wanted to do is go watch wrestling so he’ll have fun.” Each year, Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening diseases. The Mid-South chapter fulfills the wishes of more than 230 children. With the average wish costing more than $7,000 The organization relies on fundraisers and corporate support.
