Jury Awards Milan City Worker $50,000 in Court Case

JACKSON, Tenn.- A federal jury awarded Milan City worker Lindsey Taylor $50,000 Wednesday after ruling Mayor Chris Crider violated her first amendment right to free speech. Crider testified Wednesday before the jury was given the case. Taylor filed suit in 2009 and said Crider prohibited her from talking to the former city recorder who accused Crider of misdoings. The case, however is not over. The judge still has to rule on whether the Tennessee Human Rights law was violated. The parties return to court Thursday morning.
