Pair Arrested in Humboldt, Charged with Shoplifting

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — Humboldt Police arrested two Luray residents for shoplifting, Wednesday. Police say Jonathan Howard Taylor, 41, ran from the store after being confronted by an asset protection officer, but was taken into custody by police within minutes. Officers were able to recover stolen electronics & goods which were returned to the store. Taylor was also allegedly in possession of a device used to remove theft deterrent devices that activate an alarm when a customer walks out of the store. Both Taylor and a second person waiting in a vehicle, Heather Wallace-Powers, 36, were already banned from WalMart Stores after an incident that occurred at a Huntingdon Walmart in December of 2013. Both were charged with Criminal trespassing and Taylor was also charged with Theft of property under $500 and Possession of tools to interfere with anti-theft security devices.
