JACKSON, Tenn. — Servers at Buffalo Wild Wings are on standby waiting to come in if needed, and that only means one thing – It’s the tip-off to March Madness. “Everybody’s got different picks and stuff like that. I’m hoping mine wins but we’ll see what happens,” says basketball fan Justin Carrington, who has his brackets all filled out. Brackets have been filled out and fans are backing their team. Not to kill the fun, but attorneys say putting your bracket up against friends and co-workers is actually a crime. If you’re paying an entry fee to play, you’re violating Tennessee’s State Constitution. Breaking this law is considered a Class C Misdemeanor, and it’s punishable with a $50 fine and up to 30 days in jail. But many fans say they could not care less, ’cause it’s just good fun. Legal experts say they haven’t heard of anyone getting into trouble with these office bracket pools, but they say it is possible.
