Fire in Obion County, Early Reports Say It’s Possibly a Barn

OBION COUNTY, Tenn. — Firefighters from various agencies came out to help fight a fire that ended up claiming the life of several animals on Tuesday afternoon. Kenton, Troy, Obion County and Gibson County Fire Departments responded to the horse barn fire at 4557 Turnpike Road around 1 p.m. About half of the barn was salvaged, but the other half was destroyed. Although several pigs, chickens and turkeys were killed in the blaze, some were saved, according to the Kenton Fire Chief Scott Reeves. The fire, which took about an hour and half to get under control, was electrical in nature and will not be investigated.
