Arrest Made in Hardin County Bomb Threats

HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. — An arrest has been made in the bomb threats that shook up the Hardin County courthouse and the sheriff’s office, Monday. Christopher Davis, from Michie, is in custody, according to the Hardin County Sheriff Sammy Davidson. The call, which was made from a withheld number, was traced back to Davis’ sister’s phone. According to investigators, Davis’ sister gave him a ride to the courthouse where he was supposed to appear for sentencing. She said he then took her cell phone and made a call outside of her car. Phone records show that a web search was made from the phone to find the Hardin County Clerks Office phone number. Davis reportedly said “If there is any court in either courthouse today, this is a bomb threat and I will blow it up” twice before hanging up the phone. According to Sheriff Davidson, Davis was set to be sentenced for his conviction on Theft and Burglar charges.
