Police Investigate Home Invasion in North Jackson

NORTH JACKSON — Jackson police are investigating a Wednesday night home invasion. Shortly after 8 p.m., officers were called to a house on the 40 block of Cross Brook Cove. Based on the preliminary investigation, a 76-year-old man went to the door after the doorbell rang. Two intruders then forced their way inside. Police say they were armed with guns. The intruders reportedly demanded money. The homeowner was struck with a gun. The intruders seemed to have familiarity with the inside of the house. They took cash money and left. An ambulance was called and treated the victim at the scene. Residents in a community like Cross Creek say this hasn’t happened before. “It’s a really safe place. You can walk and you know everybody. This is really unusual,” Manal Abdi who lives across the street.” Both suspects wore clothing, masks and gloves that concealed any identifying characteristics. Their race could not be determined.
