Bemis Mill Faces Possible Demolition
BEMIS, Tenn. – A landmark in the community of Bemis could soon be taken down. Jackson Director of Planning Stan Pilant tells Eyewitness News that a contractor made an application for a permit this week. Jackson Mayor Jerry Gist said the city would like to keep the building as is. Mayor Gist says the mill is currently not under the historic overlay, but the city is attempting to make it a historic landmark. The mill is currently under private ownership.
