DYERSBURG, Tenn. — Officials from NSK, an automotive plant in Dyersburg, announced plans to add at least four additional manufacturing lines. It’s a move that will create dozens of new jobs in the city. On Friday, local and state officials, including Tennessee Democratic Senator, Lowe Finney, were there for the announcement. “For an area of West Tennessee that has suffered in looking for jobs, this is a great thing,” Senator Finney said. “Since 2012 to present we have hired 300 plus new people,” NSK President Michael Rivenburgh said. That brings the total number of employees at the plant to 632. According to reports released this week, Tennessee has the most minimum wage employees, showing the need for higher paying jobs in the state. Senator Finney said NSK is on the right track. “When you’re paying substantially above minimum wage, in this case with NSK 12 or 13 dollars an hours, it’s good,” Senator Finney said. The expansion is underway. Company leaders said they will add even more jobs in the next few months.
