Car Catches Fire During High School Baseball Game

NORTHEAST JACKSON — A car caught fire outside Liberty Tech High School near the baseball field on Tuesday afternoon, as Liberty played Haywood. The game was only briefly delayed. Witnesses say no one was in the car, and no injuries were reported. A school bus was very close to the burning car, but did not appear damaged. Fire investigators told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News the fire was put out quickly and appears it was the result of mechanical failure.
