BREAKING: Hunter Finds Human Remains in Dyer County

DYER COUNTY, Tenn.- Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box confirms a hunter discovered human remains in a wooded area along the Forked Deer River Bridge, Tuesday. Investigators said the hunter immediately notified deputies after making the discovery in a wooded area reportedly located between the Bruce Community and South Main Street. Deputies launched a joint recovery operation with Dyersburg Police, since the area included parts of the city. Officials said the remains have not yet been officially identified but are believed to belong to Curtis Tyler who has been missing from Dyersburg since June of 2012. Sheriff Box told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News at this time the cause of death is unknown, he could not say if foul play was a factor. The remains found were taken to the medical examiners office in Shelby County for official identification. WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News will have the latest updates as they become available.
