Chester County Principal Officially Charged with Identity Theft

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Chester County principal accused of going on a spending spree with a bank card she found was officially charged on Monday. Cristy Swope, the Chester County Middle School principal, was arraigned at 8:30 a.m. in Madison County Circuit Court, Division III. In January, police say Swope used someone else‘s bank card to make approximately $138 worth of unauthorized purchases in Jackson. Swope is charged with three counts of identity theft. Chester County Schools confirm, as of last week, Swope is suspended indefinitely without pay. Swope, who is is currently out on bond, will be back in court on May 7.
