BUCHANAN, Tenn. — Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew says he uncovered a murder conspiracy to end a love affair for good. The investigation started when Jason Owen was accused of shooting his ex-lover’s husband, Guy Biggs. But it turns out there is much more to the story. “It was fueled by an affair. Basically, it was a love triangle between a husband, a wife, and a boyfriend of Joyce Biggs,” Sheriff Belew said. Belew says Guy Biggs, first thought to be a victim, is now a suspect, along with wife Joyce. There was a plot to lure Owen into their Buchanan home to murder him. “The Biggs’ developed this plan to bring Mr. Owen into their residence and basically laid out a murder plot,” Sheriff. Belew said. Investigators are not sure who pulled the trigger on the gun, but do not believe that it was Owen. Neighbor Thomas Bracey says he’s surprised his street became a crime scene. “He shot back at him, and shot threw the window and [Owen] threw his gun down on the porch and ran,” Bracey said. Owens turned himself into police on Friday and was charged with attempted first degree murder. Belew says that charge and all others will be dropped at a court hearing Tuesday morning. Guy and Joyce Biggs will be in court Tuesday as well, where they face charges of attempted first degree murder and false report.
