HENRY CO. Tenn. — The victim of what Henry County deputies call a love triangle murder plot tells his side of the story for the first time exclusively to WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News. Jason Owen claims he never tried to kill his ex-girlfriend, Joyce Biggs, or husband, Guy Biggs, even though he was initially charged with the crime. Owen and investigators now say he is the real victim framed by the couple when their plot to kill him didn’t go as planned. “It’s a scary thing to know that you’re wanted for something you didn’t do,” Owen said. “I mean, your life flashes before your eyes. It’s kinda uncertain what’s going to happen from there.” Owen says he heard he was wanted by Henry County deputies while listening to the radio. “They said my name and my address and that I was wanted on attempted murder, aggravated kidnapping, and burglary. I just couldn’t believe it,” Owen said. Deputies first issued the warrant after finding Guy Biggs shot in the chest. The couple told officer’s Owen pulled the trigger. “Just everything you worked for is gone,” Owen remembers on what it felt like to turn himself in. “I got a son that’s supposed to graduate high school in a month, and I was going to miss that. I didn’t know what all I was going to miss.” Investigators say they later uncovered Owen was the real victim. Deputies say they believe the Biggs lured Owen to their home intending to murder him. Investigators say its unclear who shot Biggs, but they don’t believe it was Owen. At the request of his attorney, Owen did not want to discuss exactly what happened the night of the shooting. “I just hope justice is served. That is all I care about. They turned my life upside down, and that can’t be taken back, but I expect they will pay for what they did,” Owen said. The charges were officially dropped against Owen Tuesday. Guy and Joyce Biggs will be back in court next week.
