Deadline Passes for Former Sheriff to Accept Plea Deal

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — The deadline for a plea deal for former Madison County Sheriff David Woolfork has passed. According to Woolfork’s attorney, there was no plea deal offered to them. Last December, a grand jury indicted Woolfork on counts of attempted aggravated sexual battery and domestic abuse in an alleged attack on his former mistress, Deputy Sharon Sangster. His trial is set to start May 27.
