Commissioners Vote to Appoint Cunningham as Interim Sheriff

JACKSON, Tenn.- Madison County Commissioners voted 17 to7 Monday night to appoint Tommy Cunningham as interim sheriff. Cunningham has been acting Madison County Sheriff since February, when David Woolfork announced his retirement. Monday night, commissioners nominated both Cunningham and Sammy Britt, currently serving as captain with the Jackson Police Department. Cunningham will serve until a new sheriff is elected in August.
