Bond Reduced For Man Accused of New Year’s Day Stabbing Death

DYER, Tenn. — The suspect connected to a deadly New Year’s Day stabbing had his case bound over to the grand jury on Tuesday. Jeremy Cole is facing a second degree murder charge for the stabbing death of Jon Adam Carroll, 29. Cole’s bond has been reduced to $150,000 and he is still in custody, according to the Gibson County court clerk. Family members said Carroll was stabbed in his yard on Jan. 1 and died later at a local hospital. Neither officers nor family are saying what might have led to the violent encounter. According to the Gibson County court clerk, the grand jury will meet on April 28. Cole is set to be arraigned on May 5.
