Another Robbery of Sonic Carhop Reported

NORTH JACKSON — Jackson police are investigating the robbery of a carhop at a north Jackson Sonic restaurant. At 4:50 p.m. Monday, police were called to Sonic at 112 W. University Parkway. The suspect had walked to Sonic from the south and placed an order. When the carhop brought the order out, the suspect pulled a gun and demanded money. The carhop met the robber’s demands. The robber then took the money and fled back south toward the direction he had come from. Investigators believe this robbery is connected to the Thursday night robbery of a Sonic carhop at 2101 N. Highland Avenue. The suspect’s descriptions and the methods of operation in both robberies were similar. The suspect in Monday’s robbery was described as a black male, late teens, wearing a faded-blue hoodie and gray shorts. The suspect had either cornrows or braided-style hair that was pulled back into a ponytail.
