Haywood County Sheriff Says Thieves May Be Targeting Farmers
HAYWOOD COUNTY, Tenn. –Multiple thefts in one week has law enforcement telling farmers to be on the lookout. On Wednesday, chemicals were stolen from a trailer parked on Evans Lane in Haywood County. The victim told Haywood County Sheriff Melvin Bond that he had been away from them only about an hour when he discovered the theft. Sheriff Bond urges farmers to secure their chemicals and tools and keep a look out for suspicious activity. This is at least the third incident in a week where farmers were the target. The sheriff says he believes farmers who are cultivating their fields are being targeted.
